How to play Tail Crew

Everything you need, from your very first step out of Pallet Town to climbing the ranked ladder.

🚀Getting started

  1. Create a trainer on the home page (or in the game) — it's free, and your progress is saved to your account.
  2. Pick your look and your first partner from Prof. Oak: Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle.
  3. Follow the story card at the top of the screen — it always shows your next goal, and the map draws the route.

Tip: tap the minimap to open the full map. It shows your next objective and which wild Pokémon live on each route.

🎮Controls

Phone & tablet

  • Move: put your thumb anywhere on the left side — a joystick appears under it. A quick tap walks you there.
  • Look around: drag on the right side; pinch to zoom.
  • A talks, checks and fishes. Tap a person (or their ?) to walk over and talk.
  • Moves appear when a wild Pokémon is close; the ball throws at a fainted Pokémon.
  • The Quick button (your mount's face) opens your mounts and items.

🌿Catching & the Pokédex

  • Wild Pokémon roam the tall grass, caves and water — you can see them before you fight.
  • Attack until it faints, then you have 9 seconds to throw a ball. Better balls catch more often.
  • Getting close to a Pokémon registers it as seen; catching one gives you a big “registered!” moment.
  • Rare Pokémon glow violet and shinies glow gold — you'll get an alert with the direction when one is near.
  • Catch chains: catch the same species in a row. At 10, 20 and 31 your shiny odds go up (×2, ×3, ×4), and chained Pokémon come with perfect IVs.

⚔️Battles & evolution

  • Wild battles happen right in the world: your moves fire instantly with short cooldowns, and some Pokémon fight back.
  • Trainers and gyms use classic turn-based battles. Beat all 8 gyms and the Elite Four to become Champion.
  • Pokémon gain EXP and level up, learning new moves. When one evolves, you can watch the whole sequence — or press B / Stop to keep it as it is.
  • If all your Pokémon faint, you return to the last Pokémon Center and drop some money (more badges, more money).

🏅Ranked battles & leagues

  • Tap another player and choose Battle — or challenge from their profile or your friends list.
  • Online battles are fair: every Pokémon is set to level 50.
  • Every result changes your rating. Leagues: Bronze → Silver (1100) → Gold (1250) → Platinum (1400) → Diamond (1550) → Master (1700).
  • See the top 100 and the best guilds in Rankings; your full battle history is on your profile.

Results only count when both players' games agree on who won — so no fake wins.

🤝Friends, guilds & mail

  • Profile: your league, record, badges, Pokédex and your team of six. Customize your title, bio and banner.
  • Friends: add trainers by name; see who's online and where, send mail or challenge them.
  • Guilds: create one (name, 2–4 letter tag, emblem and colour) or join an open guild. Leaders can promote officers; guilds get their own Guild chat and a spot in the guild rankings.
  • Mail: send messages to any trainer. Guild invites and big news arrive here too.

✨The Shiny Hunt

  • Every 2 hours, one shiny Pokémon appears on a random route for the whole server.
  • Everyone online is told which Pokémon and where. A gold chip counts down — tap it to see the route on the map.
  • You have 15 minutes — then it disappears. The first trainer to catch it wins and is announced to everyone.

📅Daily missions, streaks & medals

  • Open Adventure for 3 new missions every day. Finish all three to open the bonus chest.
  • Log in every day for the 7-day calendar — day 7 gives a Master Ball. Missing a day starts it again.
  • Rewards every 10 Pokémon caught, plus a one-time prize for completing each area.
  • 21 medals in bronze, silver and gold — they pay diamonds and show on your profile.

🛒The player market

  • Sell items and Pokémon to other players; buy what you need. There's a 5% listing fee.
  • When something sells, the money waits in My offers — tap Collect.
  • Unsold listings expire after 48 hours and come back to you.
  • Check Prices to see what things have been selling for.

🐎Mounts & style

  • Your first mounts arrive when Prof. Oak gives you the Pokédex. Ride with R or from the Quick button.
  • Collect more mounts, outfits, trails and skins in the Shop and Wardrobe.
